“RIO” is a compilation of beautiful high definition time-lapses video of Rio de Janeiro by photographer Joe Capra who wonderfully captures the color, energy and immensity of Brazil’s second-largest city.
Using three small digital cameras, Capra filmed the former Brazilian capital over the course of a week while on a business trip last summer. The resulting video (above) took 5 months to complete, the photographer told HuffPost.
The video shows Rio in all its glory — from the night sky lit purple by city lights, to the towering Christ the Redeemer statue on Corcovado Mountain, to the crowded favelas, to sailboats bobbing in Guanabara Bay and more.
